Job Summary
Operate highway maintenance equipment, use hand and power tools like chainsaws and pole saws, and perform tasks including cleaning culverts, mowing, clearing brush, patching pavement, and assisting in storm cleanup. Adapt to changing work plans and schedules due to workload or season while working in adverse weather conditions. Lift moderately heavy objects and stand or walk for long periods with accurate eye-hand coordination. Requires Class B CDL, valid Georgia license with three years clean driving, high school diploma, and demonstrated training or experience in roadway maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Class B CDL
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid Georgia driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving
- Demonstrated training and/or experience to perform essential job functions in maintenance of roadway activities
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to lift moderately heavy objects, bend, climb, stand, or walk for long periods of time; possess accurate eye-hand coordination
- Ability to adapt to changing situations with work plans and work schedules due to workload or season
- Ability to operate equipment used in highway maintenance
- Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, etc.
- Ability to use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.
- A high standard of work ethic and commitment toward work
