Job Summary
Hi-Rail Technician responsible for spraying herbicides along railroad tracks, maintaining trucks and spray equipment, mixing tanks and calibrating spray equipment, performing daily truck inspections and routine maintenance, maintaining records, ensuring safety compliance, and communicating with customers. Requires CDL (Class A or B) with tanker and air brake endorsements, 5 years total driving experience, ability to travel up to 8 weeks, flexible 7am–4pm schedule with potential weekend/night work, paid training, and a benefits package including medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and PTO. Pay rate is $24.00/hour. Training provided; opportunities for career growth and development.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 21+ years of age or older
- Valid CDL (Class A or B) with tanker and air brake endorsements
- 5 years of total clean driving experience
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check for railroad property access
- Must be able to operate manual transmission trucks (no automatic restrictions)
- Ability to travel away from home for up to 8 weeks at a time (DCS covers hotel accommodations and per diem)
- Flexible schedule: Most work is Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm, with 10–12-hour shifts
- Some weekend or night work may be required
