CDL Hi-Rail Railroad Technician

Oversee assigned jobs and contracts by applying herbicides along railroad tracks for weed, grass, and brush control. Mix tanks, calibrate spray equipment, and perform daily truck inspections, routine maintenance, and system repairs. Maintain accurate daily and weekly records while ensuring all work complies with safety guidelines and regulations. Communicate with customers to address complaints professionally and identify vegetation types to understand proper application methods and chemical safety requirements. This full-time seasonal role requires a valid CDL with tanker and air brake endorsements, five years of clean driving experience, and ability to operate manual transmission trucks. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check. Training covers vegetation identification, chemical usage, and equipment operation. Pay ranges from $25 to $30 per hour, with potential increases for prior industry experience or obtaining a Commercial Pesticide Applicators license.
