Job Summary

Oversee assigned contracts by applying herbicides along railroad tracks, mixing tanks, and calibrating spray equipment. Perform daily truck inspections, routine maintenance, and system repairs while maintaining accurate records and ensuring full compliance with safety guidelines. Identify vegetation types and address customer complaints professionally. Requires a valid CDL with tanker and air brake endorsements, five years of clean driving experience, and ability to operate manual transmission trucks. Travel away from home for 6-10 weeks at a time; schedule includes Monday–Friday shifts with occasional weekend or night work. Paid training covers vegetation identification, chemical usage, and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 21+ years of age or older
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check for railroad property access
  • Valid CDL (Class A or B) with tanker and air brake endorsements
  • 5 years of total clean driving experience required
  • Must be able to operate manual transmission trucks (no automatic restrictions)
  • Ability to travel away from home for 6-10 weeks at a time (DCS covers hotel accommodations and per diem)
  • Must comply with company drug and alcohol policy

Desired Qualifications

  • Increase in pay if prior experience in Hi-Rail/Vegetation Spray Industry
  • Increase in pay if a Commercial Pesticide Applicators license is obtained after hire
