CDL Guardrail & Highway Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Interpret plans and schematics, install and set up highway guardrail layouts, and handle materials for installation. Load and unload materials on flat-bed trucks or trailers manually, dig holes, and use power tools including chainsaws, pole saws, and backpack blowers. Operate the Post Pounder/Driver Truck and other highway maintenance equipment while utilizing hand tools like shovels, rakes, and brooms. Respond to emergencies, clear drainage systems, remove downed trees, and assist with storm cleanup. Must hold a Class A or B CDL with a valid Virginia driver's license and at least three years of clean driving. Available to work night shifts from 7 PM to 5 AM. Requires construction background and heavy labor experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Class A or B CDL
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid Virginia driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving
- Demonstrated training and/or experience to perform essential job functions in maintenance of roadway activities
- Construction background/ experience
- Ability to work night shift from 7 PM to 5 AM
- Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving
