CDL Guardrail & Highway Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Interpret plans and schematics to install and set up highway guardrail layouts, handling materials for placement and loading/unloading on flat-bed trucks. Operate the Post Pounder/Driver Truck and various highway maintenance equipment while using hand tools, chainsaws, and power blowers. Clear drainage systems, remove downed trees, patch damaged pavements, assist with storm cleanup, and respond to emergencies. Perform heavy labor duties including digging holes and lifting moderately heavy objects in various weather conditions. Requires a Class A or B CDL, valid Virginia license with three years clean driving, and ability to work night shifts from 7 PM to 5 AM.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Class A or B CDL
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid Virginia driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving
- Demonstrated training and/or experience to perform essential job functions in maintenance of roadway activities
- Construction background/ experience
- Ability to work night shift from 7 PM to 5 AM
- Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving
