CDL Guardrail & Highway Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Interpret plans and schematics to install and set up highway guardrail layouts, handling materials and operating the Post Pounder/Driver Truck. Load and unload materials on flat-bed trucks or trailers manually, dig holes, and use power tools like chainsaws, pole saws, and backpack blowers for general maintenance tasks. Clear drainage systems, remove downed trees, and patch damaged pavements while responding to emergencies and adapting to seasonal workload changes. Must hold a Class A or B CDL with at least three years of clean driving experience and a valid Virginia license. Available to work night shifts from 7 PM to 5 AM. Candidates must demonstrate training for roadway maintenance duties and possess a construction background.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Class A or B CDL
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid Virginia driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving
- Demonstrated training and/or experience to perform essential job functions in maintenance of roadway activities
- Construction background/ experience
- Availability to work night shift from 7 PM to 5 AM
