Job Summary
CDL Driver I operates Class A or B commercial vehicles to deliver lumber and building materials to active construction sites and other locations; performs thorough pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections, maintains DOT-compliant logs, and adheres to federal regulations; loads and unloads materials, secures loads, and ensures accurate deliveries; may travel interstate and perform city deliveries; maintains vehicle cleanliness and safety, and provides professional customer service while relaying messages from customers. Requires High School Diploma or GED and a valid CDL (Class A or/or Class B); 1–2 years CDL experience preferred; pay rate $26.00–$29.00/hour; location Milton, VT.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Class A CDL License or Class B CDL License required
- Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required
- Experience transporting and handling lumber and building materials required
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and logbook requirements
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Ability to operate a truck-mounted forklift
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to comply with hours-of-service requirements
