Job Summary
Operate Class A or B commercial vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver materials to active construction sites, completed build locations, and inter-state destinations. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections, manage driving logs, and adhere to hours-of-service regulations. Organize and secure loads, verify orders for accuracy, and deliver unloading materials while maintaining truck cleanliness. Safely operate a truck-mounted forklift to load, unload, and transport materials at job sites, and assist with stocking and organizing inventory in warehouse areas. Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional demeanor and relaying messages from clients.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers
- 1-2 years CDL experience
- Experience transporting and handling lumber and building materials
- Ability to do basic math
- Ability to read orders
- Ability to write instructions and complete forms
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills
- Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems
- Maintain current operator's license and meet company driver qualification requirements
- Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
- Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, dispatchers, and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries
- Knowledge and understanding of federal DOT regulations, logbook requirements, and HOS compliance
- Class A CDL License or Class B CDL License
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
