Job Summary
Operate Class A or B commercial vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver materials to active construction sites, completed builds, and city locations. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections, manage logs, and adhere to hours-of-service requirements. Organize and secure loads, verify orders, and deliver/unload materials accurately while maintaining truck cleanliness. Safely operate a truck-mounted forklift for loading, unloading, and transporting materials at job sites. Assist with stocking and organizing inventory in warehouse areas, report shortages and claims, and provide professional customer service by relaying messages and addressing client needs.
Required Qualifications
- Class A or B Driver's license
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers
- 1-2 years CDL experience
- Experience transporting and handling lumber and building materials
- Ability to do basic math
- Ability to read orders
- Ability to write instructions and complete forms
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills
- Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems
- Maintain current operator's license and meet company driver qualification requirements
- Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of federal DOT regulations, logbook requirements, and HOS compliance
- Class A CDL License or Class B CDL License
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, dispatchers, and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years CDL experience preferred
- Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications)
- Certified Drill Rig Operator-NCCCO Boom Certification
- Active accredited certification for equipment type (e.g. NCCCO, NCCER, CIC)
