Job Summary
Operate Class A or B commercial vehicles safely and efficiently for deliveries to active construction sites, completed builds, and city-based locations. Perform thorough pre- and post-trip DOT inspections, manage logs, and adhere to hours-of-service requirements. Organize and secure loads, verify orders, and deliver materials accurately while assisting in loading, unloading, and stocking inventory. Maintain truck cleanliness and operate a truck-mounted forklift to transport materials at job sites. Record merchandise returns and ensure proper documentation for credit.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers
- 1-2 years CDL experience
- Experience transporting and handling lumber and building materials
- Ability to do basic math
- Ability to read orders
- Ability to write instructions and complete forms
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills
- Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems
- Maintain current operator's license and meet company driver qualification requirements
- Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of federal DOT regulations, logbook requirements, and HOS compliance
- Class A CDL License or Class B CDL License
- Ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications)
