Job Summary
CDL Driver Trainer (Part Time) in Baltimore, MD responsible for all driver training functions of the CDL program, including classroom instruction and hands-on driving instruction. Teach CDL concepts (pre-trip inspections, air-brake tests, backing, parallel parking, alley-docking, etc.), administer written tests, monitor student progress, maintain records, ensure safety and policy compliance, and deliver engaging instruction. Requires CDL (Class A), 3 years of on-the-road experience, MVR/background checks and drug screening, ability to pass DOT physical and drug tests, and strong communication/presentation skills to inspire adult learners. Local campus role with a schedule that accommodates home each night; on-site duties, classroom and driving range activities, and coordination with program leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A
- Three years of verifiable CDL A on-the-road experience within the last five years
- High School Diploma or GED
- MVR and background check including a drug screening
- Ability to pass road test and DOT physical and DOT drug screen
- Maintain valid Medical Examiner Certificate and pass DOT drug tests
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship in this posting)
- Ability to stand and perform physically demanding tasks (lift up to 50 lbs)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to instruct and assess driving maneuvers and parking procedures
