Job Summary
Operate one or more vehicle types including Front End, Roll Off, and Residential trucks to collect solid waste, yard waste, and recyclables on routes that may vary daily. Deliver collected materials to landfill, MRF, or transfer stations while completing pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, daily truck reports, and route sheets. Communicate vehicle mechanical issues immediately, maintain clean vehicles, and manage assigned helpers if applicable. Stop service directives, develop directions to new accounts, and perform extra pick-ups or route observations as needed. Report all accidents or incidents to supervisors and wear required personal protective equipment at all times. Work outdoors up to 100% of the time in varying weather conditions, lifting objects up to 50 pounds repetitively.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum one (1) years of commercial driving experience OR CDL school certificate
- Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment
- Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively using proper lifting techniques
- Ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example: two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting or standing
- Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, and smell
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work in usually loud conditions
- Ability to work in outdoor environment up to 100% of the time
- Sitting is required 75% of the time
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
