Job Summary
Conduct safe, timely deliveries of building materials to job sites within a 200-mile radius, operating Class A or B vehicles with no overnight travel. Perform thorough vehicle inspections, verify inventory accuracy, and document deliveries with photos per company policy. Assess job site conditions to prevent hazards, collaborate with customers for material placement, and support yard operations including loading/unloading with forklifts or manually. Maintain compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations while managing long hours and varied weather conditions. This role reports to the Assistant Branch Manager or Operations Manager and may involve supervising junior drivers.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B with air brakes endorsement
- Clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving
- Knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
- Ability to operate forklifts/Moffett's safely
- Ability to work in varied conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Age 18+ (21 for interstate/hazmat)
- Pass background checks
- Pass drug tests
- Pass E-Verify
- High school diploma or GED
- Current DOT Medical Certificate
- FMCSA Registration
- Successful completion of pre-employment screenings including background check, drug test, and verification via the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) Clearinghouse
