Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
• Experience operating hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars
• Pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Maintain DOT compliance, including driver logs, inspections, and regulatory requirements
• Wear required PPE at all times
• Complete required training, including annual Road Worker Safety

Desired Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial driving experience
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Compensation & Benefits: $1,000 sign-on bonus (after 60 days of employment)
• DOT/FRA regulations knowledge
• DOT physical
• Background check
• Ability to pass a DOT drug screen
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to meet physical demands
• Ability to climb stairs/ladders
• Able to lift up to 85 lbs. (up to 100 lbs. when assisting)
• Experience operating hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars
• Pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Maintenance and repair of rail equipment
• Data collection and interpretation from onboard computer systems
• Safety training and PPE usage
• Rail flaw detection testing support
• Travel extensively for extended periods
• Field-based work in varied weather conditions
• Ability to work in extreme environments
• Documentation and reporting via radio/intercom tools
• DOT compliance and driver logs management
• Reliability and teamwork in a railroad environment
• Rigorous safety standards adherence
• Ability to operate in a safety-sensitive environment
• Climb, crouch, bend, kneel, and crawl in confined spaces
