Job Summary
CDL Driver operates hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars, travels extensively across assigned regions, conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintains DOT compliance, supports rail flaw detection testing and data collection, performs ground-level rail inspections with handheld equipment, and assists with maintenance of detector carriage/equipment. Role requires working in varied weather, ensuring safety and PPE, and communicating clearly with crew members while navigating extensive travel and physically demanding tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check (where permitted by law)
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Basic mechanical aptitude (e.g., changing tires, replacing batteries)
