Job Summary
Conduct daily DOT pre- and post-trip inspections, including fluid checks, and perform routine plant maintenance, general cleaning, and manual labor tasks. Receive delivery tickets, verify addresses and directions, add specified ingredients, check concrete slumps and mix, and attach chutes from the fender to the main chute. Collect C.O.D. deliveries, wash the truck after unloading, and refuel as needed. Communicate with dispatchers throughout the process and report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly. Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean driving record.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid State-Issued Driver's License, Class A or B
- Candidates must be willing and able to undergo a pre-employment background check, MVR overview, physical/DOT. and drug/alcohol testing
- Ongoing compliance is required
- Proficiently read, write, and speak English
- Ability to understand and read GPS from company issued tablet
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate the ability to perform job functions in accordance with Company policies and management directives
- Must be able to take orders, instructions and guidance from management and supervisors
- Proficient basic math skills, e.g. addition, subtraction, fractions, and percentages
- Maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations and company policy
- Required to have an active phone with texting or email capabilities
- Proven safe driving record
- No unexplained gaps in employment
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds
- Must be able to climb heights of up 13 feet on a ready-mix truck
- Must be able to climb ladders and catwalks that may be between 6-110 feet above the ground
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to extreme weather conditions
- Must be able to tolerate high noise levels and significant vibrations
- Must be able to tolerate walking and working of varied rough terrain conditions
- Must be able to tolerate construction related chemicals, dust, and other typical industrial conditions
- Must be able to work flexible hours and shifts
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Must be willing and able to work long hours up to the maximum hours allowed of services permitted by DOT and state law, including but not limited to, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays
- Must be able to safely and accurately maneuver trucks in uneven and poor terrain while backing or pulling into job site
