Job Summary
Operate heavy-duty commercial vehicles to transport goods and materials across the region, strategically planning routes and coordinating with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintain accurate delivery logs and bills of lading, and report any maintenance needs promptly. Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring items are properly secured, while adhering to hours-of-service regulations and DOT compliance standards. Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and uphold safety protocols throughout the route.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL (Class A or B)
- Clean driving record
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Friendly, professional, and respectful when interacting with clients
- Committed to safe driving practices
- Ability to perform daily vehicle inspections
- Able to load/unload materials
- Able to assist with deliveries
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience operating Class B or A commercial vehicles
- Relevant training
- Prior delivery experience in wholesale or warehouse environments
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong communication skills
- Solid knowledge of commercial driving laws and regulations
- Safety procedures knowledge
- Accident protocols knowledge
- Physically capable of long driving hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule
- Flexibility for overtime
- Basic proficiency in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to group, sort, and sequence items effectively
