Job Summary
Operate a CDL truck to transport finished goods and raw materials between Lane manufacturing plants, job sites, and customers. Manage daily electronic logs, plan routes, and meet delivery schedules while complying with Department of Transportation rules regarding size, weight, parking, and break periods. Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections, maintain the truck and securement devices, and secure loads to DOT requirements using proper flagging and tarping methods. Maneuver vehicles into loading and unloading positions, couple and uncouple semi-trailers, and report defects, accidents, or violations immediately. Ensure all parts are accounted for via packing lists and invoices, maintain fuel and toll receipts, and adhere to all yard and worksite safety rules.
Required Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Commercial Truck Driver, including 2 years verifiable driving experience
- 23 years of age
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No 'major violations' as defined as FMCSA
- No serious violations in the last 5 years as defined by FMCSA
- Two or less preventable commercial accidents in the last 3 years
- Must be licensed on, and able to drive trucks with manual transmissions
- Must be comfortable operating a tri-axle truck
- Current CDL Driver's License
- DOT driver's physical card
- Must be able to pass pre-employment and random DOT drug and alcohol testing
- 3-year motor vehicle check (MVR)
- Ability to drive up to 11 hours per day
- Ability to lift, up to 100 pounds
- Ability to climb, and work on the trailers to assist loading and unloading
- Must be able to throw securement straps or chains over the load to secure as needed
- Must be able to bend and stoop to facilitate loading and unloading the truck
- Must maintain a clean, professional, appearance at all times
