Job Summary

Collect and process trash and recycling on assigned routes within the Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri area, utilizing front load and roll-off trucks to transport refuse to transfer stations. Sweep facility grounds, rake debris, and maintain recycling areas while operating packers, shovels, and yard rakes. Conduct visual inspections of loads to prevent prohibited materials disposal and assist patrons with refuse placement. Clean sanitation trucks and equipment daily, check operating conditions, and report needed repairs. Perform outdoor tasks including grass mowing, weed eating, and snow removal, adhering to safety procedures and city ordinances.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more continuously during route
  • Ability to carry, reach, bend, push, pull, and climb during route
  • Ability to follow necessary safety precautions in all areas of assignment
  • Ability to deal courteously and professionally with customers and the general public
  • Maintain professional composure in heated situations
  • Must be able to work weekends as needed
  • Must be able to work after 4 PM
  • Must be able to work on Saturday
  • Must be able to work outdoors
  • Must be able to work indoors
  • Must be able to lift light and heavy objects
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, bending, crouching or stooping
