Job Summary
CDL Driver in Training in Anchorage, AK role offering paid training to obtain a CDL and transition into a full-time local driver position. Training includes classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel training, and a road test; starts as laborer and progresses to driving a garbage truck on local routes. Wage during training ranges from $19.00 to $25.00 per hour, increasing to $25.00 per hour after CDL is obtained. Requires valid Class D or CDL with Air Brake endorsement and a clean driving record; English proficiency and ability to lift 50+ lbs; High school diploma or GED preferred; 1+ year of general work experience preferred. Required Qualifications
- A valid Class D license and ability to obtain a CDL permit within 90 days of start date, or, A valid Class B or Class A CDL with Air Brake endorsement.
- A clean driving record
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions
- Strong communication + basic reading/writing skills (English required)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1+ year of general work experience (related experience is a plus)
