Job Summary
Safely operate roll-off trucks and tankers to haul non-hazardous waste between the Dolton facility, landfill locations, and Cook County customer sites in accordance with DOT and company safety requirements. Perform all pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment remains in safe operating condition. Transport materials on routes generally under 50 miles, with occasional longer trips up to 100–150 miles as needed. Follow all routing, scheduling, and dispatch instructions while maintaining clear communication regarding delays or adjustments. Complete transportation documentation such as manifests, bills of lading, logs, and inspection reports. Maintain proper placarding and adhere to DOT requirements related to waste transport. Uphold site and company safety standards and follow written and verbal geographic directions. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older
- Valid CDL Class A license
- Minimum two years of Class A tractor‐trailer experience with tanker or waste‐hauling background
- Roll‐off experience required
- Acceptable driving record under company and DOT standards
- No transmission restriction preferred; automatic‐only drivers still acceptable
- Ability to meet the listed start time requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, and work at heights or in confined spaces
- Ability to push, pull, grip, reach, and lift or carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in various weather conditions with adequate vision and hearing for safe operation
Desired Qualifications
- Hazmat endorsement preferred but not required
- Experience in landfill, waste removal, wastewater, or related waste industry work
