Job Summary
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, verify inventory accuracy, and ensure secure, damage-free deliveries of building materials to job sites within a 200-mile radius. Assess site conditions to prevent hazards, collaborate with customers for material placement, and document deliveries with photos per company policy. Load and unload materials using forklifts or manually, working in varied weather and noisy environments while managing long hours and fast-paced schedules. Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to DOT/OSHA regulations. This role supports operational efficiency for SRS Distribution Inc., a leading roofing distributor, fostering strong customer relationships through professionalism and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B with air brakes endorsement
- Clean driving record
- Forklift operation capability
- Ability to work in varied conditions
- Effective communication in English
- Age 18+ (21 for interstate/hazmat)
- Pass background checks
- Pass drug tests
- E-Verify verification
- FMCSA Clearinghouse verification
- 1-2 years of relevant commercial driving experience
- Ability to manage long hours
- Ability to handle materials up to 100 lbs
- Ability to load/unload with forklifts or manually
- Ability to work in varied weather and noisy environments
- Ability to read job-related documents in English
- Current DOT Medical Certificate
- FMCSA Registration
- Strong safety compliance through inspections and adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations
- Ability to travel within a 200-mile radius
- No overnight stays
