Job Summary
Operate company trucks up to 26' in compliance with DOT regulations, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness. Deliver materials to customer project sites on time, unloading items and verifying deliveries against packing slips while representing the company positively. Perform additional tasks including forklift operation, moving and staging building materials, and maintaining a clean, safe warehouse environment. Adhere to all driving regulations, OSHA requirements, and proper lifting techniques while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Participate in required company meetings and training programs focused on safety, customer focus, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Possess valid Class A or Class B CDL
- Minimum 1-year consistent commercial driving experience
- Must be able to learn how to operate a forklift and other company vehicles
- Must understand and be able to use miscellaneous tools and equipment, including but not limited to: dollies, flat carts, and rock carts
- Must attend and participate in all required meetings in relation to material delivery and overall company
- Attend and participate in all required company training programs
- Must be able to lift 80 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders carrying up to 50 lbs
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing
- Must adhere to all driving regulations based on state and/or jurisdiction policies such as wearing a seatbelt
- Must follow all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment
- Must use proper lifting techniques
- Must be able to unload, protect, move and stage materials as specified by customer directive
- Must conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Must safely operate company vehicles, including up to 26' trucks, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Must unload materials at delivery locations and verify deliveries against packing slips
- Must ensure deliveries are handled professionally and courteously, always representing the company positively
- Must maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
- Must work well in a team environment
