Job Summary
Safely operate a heavy-load truck, ensuring all material is properly secured before and after each delivery. Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections (DVIR) to verify truck and equipment condition. Collect, document, and securely process money received, aligning it with customer paperwork. Complete and return all customer delivery paperwork at the end of each shift. Report any issues or incidents related to material damage or customer matters to dispatch. Seek guidance from a supervisor on non-routine or problem areas. This full-time role requires overtime as business needs dictate and involves travel across all region's distribution centers.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of truck driving experience with a proven track record of safe driving
- Proficient in driving automatic transmission trucks
- Possession of a commercial driver's license (type A or B)
- Capability to operate a gate lift
- Proficiency in operating an electric pallet jack
- Experience in handling commercial and residential deliveries
- Ability to service all region's distribution centers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Travel is required for this position
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Minimum of 5 years of forklift experience
- Minimum of 5 years of truck driving experience with a proven track record of safe driving
