Job Summary
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, verify inventory accuracy, and ensure secure, damage-free deliveries to job sites within a 200-mile radius. Assess conditions to prevent hazards, collaborate with customers for material placement, and document deliveries with photos per policy. Load and unload materials using forklifts or manually, working in varied weather and noisy environments while managing long hours and fast-paced schedules. Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to DOT/OSHA safety regulations. This role supports operational efficiency for SRS, a leading roofing distributor, fostering strong customer relationships through professionalism and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B with air brakes endorsement
- Clean driving record
- Ability to operate forklifts/Moffett's safely
- Ability to work in varied conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Age 18+ (21 for interstate/hazmat)
- Pass background checks
- Pass drug tests
- Verification via the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) Clearinghouse
- 1-2 years of relevant commercial driving experience
- Current DOT Medical Certificate
- FMCSA Registration
- Demonstrates strong safety compliance through inspections and adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations
- Ability to manage long hours
- Ability to handle fast-paced schedules
- Ability to travel within a 200-mile radius
- No overnight stays
- Physical capability to handle materials up to 100 lbs
- Ability to load/unloading with forklifts or manually
- Ability to work in varied weather and noisy environments
- Ability to read job-related documents in English
