Job Summary
Drive a Class A or B truck to destinations, loading and unloading materials while maintaining daily pre and post trip inspections of tires, lights, brakes, and fluids. Prepare receipts for load pickups, perform daily truck logs according to state and federal regulations, and keep telephone or radio contact with supervisors for delivery instructions. Inspect truck equipment and supplies, tarp all loads when public roadway travel is necessary, and trim loads prior to tarping. Adhere strictly to MSHA and H&K Safety policies. Maintain a clean driving record and meet physical requirements for lifting up to 50 pounds. This role supports American Biosoils & Compost's mission to divert organic waste from landfills by producing biosoils and compost.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution
- Class A CDL with 1 year of commercial driving experience
- Class B CDL with 1 year of triaxle driving experience
- Manual transmission experience
- Clean driving record
- Strong Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- 3 years of commercial driving experience
- Strong preference for 3 years of triaxle driving experience
- Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement
- TWIC card
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- MSHA, OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
