Job Summary
Conduct pre/post trip inspections of assigned vehicles, ensuring all safety equipment is operational and maintaining truck appearance per company standards. Operate roll rear load, front load, side load, and roll off trucks on streets, highways, and customer sites while performing courteous service interactions. Complete route assignments, end-of-day documentation, and paperwork; empty receptacles, return bins to upright positions, and clean spill areas. Assist with backing maneuvers, notify dispatch of incidents or service interruptions, and participate in scheduled training programs. Obtain a Commercial Driving Permit and complete federally required instruction and training under the supervision of a Casella Waste Driver Trainer until passing the CDL licensing exam and road test.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- State issued standard CDL Driver's Class B permit with air brake endorsement
- Ability to get a CDL permit within 6 months
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Physical ability to handle objects more than 50lbs
- Ability to work under many different weather conditions
- Successful completion of pre-employment testing
- Drug screen
