Job Summary
Obtain a Commercial Driving Permit and complete federally required CDL instruction and training to safely operate commercial motor vehicles while working alongside a Casella Waste Driver Trainer. Perform pre/post trip inspections of assigned vehicles in accordance with safety standards and state/federal regulations, ensuring all equipment is operational and secured properly. Operate roll rear, front, side, and roll off trucks on streets, highways, customer sites, and construction sites while following route assignments and completing end-of-day documentation. Empty receptacles, place bins back in upright positions, and clean areas around accidental waste spills. Provide courteous service to customers and notify dispatch immediately of any incidents, accidents, or unsafe situations. Attend all scheduled training programs and meetings as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- State issued standard CDL Driver's Class B permit with air brake endorsement
- Ability to get a CDL permit within 6 months
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Physical ability to handle objects more than 50lbs
- Ability to work under many different weather conditions
- Successful completion of pre-employment testing
- Drug screen
