Job Summary
CDL Driver (Class A or B) to perform local pickups and deliveries between client sites, World Courier facilities, and area airports, ensuring cold chain integrity and on-time performance. Responsibilities include meeting deadlines for local pickups/deliveries, following special pickup instructions, tendering/recovering shipments from airports, complying with DOT rules, maintaining daily vehicle logs and pre-trip inspections, obtaining shipment damage reports as needed, maintaining communication with Dispatch, following COVID-19 protocols, and physically handling loads (25–70 lbs) with the ability to travel as needed and work overtime. Skills emphasized include professional demeanor, dangerous goods/TSA/cold chain training, load security, and clear, proactive communication with operations teams.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and maintain a current valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
- Must maintain a valid health card as required by the DOT
- High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)
- General driving knowledge of the airports and area
- Dangerous Goods training
- TSA training
- Cold chain training
- Live animal handling
- Professional demeanor
- Temperature monitor training
- Good communication skills
- Understanding of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures
- No more than 3 moving violations and/or accidents in the past 3 years
- No more than 2 moving violations and/or accidents in the past 12 months
- No major convictions within the last 5 years including DWI/DUI, leaving the scene, etc.
- Ability to travel to any and all sites; overtime flexibility
- Ability to load/unload, secure load, and obey highway regulations
