Job Summary
Perform complete pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, and safety equipment are operational. Safely operate heavy trucks along designated routes to service customers at disposal sites, reading route sheets and following dispatcher assignments. Lift and load refuse using manual and/or automatic controls, operating compactors to dispose of material at facilities. Identify unsatisfactory waste containers, tag them per departmental procedures, and clean accidental spills while monitoring waste conditions. Complete required route, productivity sheets, and VCRs to maintain adherence to standards. Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each trip to minimize downtime. Maintain a clean, professional appearance and courteous interaction with customers, dispatchers, and co-workers.
Required Qualifications
- Clean Class A or B Commercial Driver's license
- DOT physical card
- Able to read and write legibly
- Able to comply with company policy on controlled substances and alcohol
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of prior driving commercial trucks preferred
