Job Summary
Drive Orica bulk trucks and install blasting products at construction sites, mines, and quarries. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, load materials, pull hoses, and operate manufacturing unit control systems. Manage inventory, ensure hazardous goods compliance, and report incidents immediately. Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety meetings. Work Monday through Friday with early morning starts, 8-12 hours daily, and occasional overtime. Requires valid Class B CDL, DOT knowledge, and ability to lift 60 pounds in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL
- Solid understanding of DOT regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Basic math skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, daily responsibilities, and urgent situations
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
- Must be able to carry 50 pounds or more of product or materials
- Ability to load product, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, and climb on and off trucks
- Ability to perform frequent bending, squatting, and general mobility throughout the workday
- Must be available for early morning starts at approximately 4 AM
- Must be available for work of approximately 8-12 hours per day
- Must be available for overtime
- Must be available for up to 10% of overnight travel
- Must be willing to obtain endorsements
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Must be able to perform frequent shoveling of gravel
- Must be able to perform regular pushing and pulling while working with equipment
- Must be able to perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles
- Must be able to operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks
- Must be able to ensure raw materials and hazardous goods are handled, stored, and used in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Must be able to minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control practices
- Must be able to immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents
- Must be able to actively participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings
- Must be able to manage daily inventory tasks
