Job Summary
Drive and operate Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and install blasting products at local construction sites, mines, and quarries. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including fluid checks, while loading products, pulling hoses, and operating control systems. Manage inventory and ensure hazardous goods comply with DOT regulations, minimizing environmental impact through waste reduction. Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety meetings, reporting any incidents immediately. This hybrid role requires early morning starts (approx. 4 AM) and 8-12 hour shifts, with 40% driving and 60% physical installation work outdoors in all weather. Valid Class B CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL
- Solid understanding of DOT regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Basic math skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, daily responsibilities, and urgent situations
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
- Must be able to carry 50 pounds or more of product or materials
- Ability to load product, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, and climb on and off trucks
- Ability to perform frequent shoveling of gravel
- Ability to perform regular pushing and pulling while working with equipment
- Ability to perform frequent bending, squatting, and general mobility throughout the workday
- Willingness to obtain endorsements
