Job Summary
Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks while performing pre- and post-trip inspections, including fluid checks. Load products, pull hoses, and climb on and off bulk trucks in various weather conditions to install blasting products at construction sites, mines, and quarries. Ensure hazardous goods are handled, stored, and used in compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards. Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents. Participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings to maintain a safe work environment. This hybrid role requires 40% driving and 60% physical installation work, with early morning starts around 4 AM and a daily schedule of 8-12 hours.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL
- Solid understanding of DOT regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Basic math skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, daily responsibilities, and urgent situations
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
- Must be able to carry 50 pounds or more of product or materials
- Ability to load product
- Ability to pull large hoses
- Ability to fill drilled holes
- Ability to climb on and off trucks
- Ability to perform frequent shoveling of gravel
- Ability to perform regular pushing and pulling while working with equipment
- Ability to perform frequent bending, squatting, and general mobility throughout the workday
- Willingness to obtain endorsements
- Must be available for Monday through Friday
- Must be available for early morning starts at approximately 4 AM
- Must be available for work of approximately 8-12 hours per day
- Must be available for overtime
- Must be available for up to 10% of overnight travel
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Must be able to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles
- Must be able to check and refill fluid levels
- Must be able to operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks
- Must be able to ensure raw materials and hazardous goods are handled, stored, and used in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Must be able to minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control practices
- Must be able to immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents
- Must be able to actively participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings
