Job Summary
Drive Orica's bulk trucks and install blasting products at local construction sites, mines, and quarries. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, operate emulsion tanker and box trucks, and handle hazardous goods in compliance with DOT regulations. Manage daily inventory, minimize environmental impact through waste reduction, and report any unusual incidents immediately. Participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings to maintain a safe work environment. This hybrid role requires approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work, including loading products, pulling hoses, and operating control systems in various weather conditions. Early morning starts occur at approximately 4 AM with 8-12 hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL
- Solid understanding of DOT regulations
- Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more of product or materials
- Requires the ability to load product, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, and climb on and off trucks
- Frequent shoveling of gravel to fill drilled holes throughout the day
- Regular pushing and pulling while working with equipment
- Other physical activities include frequent bending, squatting, and general mobility throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds
- Must be able to carry 50 pounds or more
- Ability to load product

- Must be able to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles
- Must be able to check and refill fluid levels
- Must be able to operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks
- Must be able to ensure raw materials and hazardous goods are handled, stored, and used in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Must be able to minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control practices
- Must be able to immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents
- Must be able to actively participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings
