Job Summary
Drive and operate Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and install blasting products at local construction sites, mines, and quarries. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, load products, pull hoses, and climb on and off the truck in all weather conditions. Ensure raw materials and hazardous goods are handled in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements while minimizing environmental impact. Actively participate in daily toolbox talks and report any unusual incidents immediately. This hybrid role involves approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work with early morning starts and a schedule of 10–12 hours daily. Valid Class B CDL and DOT regulations knowledge are required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL
- Solid understanding of DOT regulations
- Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more of product or materials
- Requires the ability to load product, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, and climb on and off trucks
- Frequent shoveling of gravel to fill drilled holes throughout the day
- Regular pushing and pulling while working with equipment
- Other physical activities include frequent bending, squatting, and general mobility throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds
- Must be able to carry 50 pounds or more of product or materials
- Ability to load product
- Ability to pull large hoses
- Ability to fill drilled holes
- Ability to climb on and off trucks

- Must be able to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles
- Must be able to check and refill fluid levels
- Must be able to operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks
- Must be able to ensure raw materials and hazardous goods are handled, stored, and used in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Must be able to minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control practices
- Must be able to immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents
- Must be able to actively participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings
