Job Summary
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including fluid checks, while operating emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks to deliver bulk explosives to construction sites, mines, and quarries. Perform physical installation tasks such as loading products, pulling hoses, filling drilled holes, and climbing on and off bulk trucks in all weather conditions. Ensure raw materials and hazardous goods are handled, stored, and used in compliance with DOT regulations and safety requirements. Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents. Actively participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings. This hybrid position requires approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work, with early morning starts and a schedule of 10-12 hours daily.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL
- Solid understanding of DOT regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Basic math skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, daily responsibilities, and urgent situations
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
- Must be able to carry 50 pounds or more of product or materials
- Ability to load product
- Ability to pull large hoses
- Ability to fill drilled holes
- Ability to climb on and off trucks
- Ability to perform frequent shoveling of gravel
- Ability to perform regular pushing and pulling while working with equipment
- Ability to perform frequent bending, squatting, and general mobility throughout the workday
- Willingness to obtain endorsements
