Job Summary
Lead CDL Class A Instructor Trainer overseeing and mentoring instructors, ensuring effective training delivery across yard and road activities, maintaining safety, professionalism, and curriculum consistency, tracking student progress, and coordinating scheduling and reporting at a multi-yard CDL training network. Requires leading a team, coaching instructors and students, knowledge of DOT/FMCSA standards, and the ability to operate in a local leadership role with home-time each night. Requires High School diploma or equivalent, Class A CDL with 24+ months driving experience (Nevada requires 5 years), DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening, leadership and mentoring skills, and state instructor licensing as applicable. Relocation benefit provided for eligible moves.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A CDL with a minimum of 24 months of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer driving experience (Nevada requires 5 years)
- Safe driving record with an MVR free of major violations
- Knowledge of the rules of the road and local state laws
- Ability to pass DOT physical and DOT-mandated drug and alcohol screening
- Strong leadership, communication, mentoring, and coaching skills
- Background check clearance required
- Must meet all state instructor licensing requirements where applicable
- Manual transmission experience with the ability to teach manual operation
- Ability to adapt instruction and coaching to different learning styles
- Reside in the applying state or have relocation housing secured
- Reliable and trustworthy to show up daily on time and ready to lead your team
