Job Summary
Teach Class A driving skills using hands-on training in outdoor yards on automatic and manual transmissions, guiding students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and on-road driving to prepare them for first-time CDL exam pass rates. Track student attendance and progress, maintain accurate training records, and report incidents to your lead and corporate. Keep the yard and building clean and presentable while working alongside a team of instructors and a Lead Instructor. Cover for other instructors at nearby regional yards in emergencies, with per diem and mileage paid for out-of-area assignments. Operate Monday through Friday with occasional seven-day coverage for higher volume yards.
Required Qualifications
- CDL Class A
- Ability to climb in/out of a tractor cab
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
- Ability to demonstrate maneuvers
- Reliable, on-time attendance
- Student-centric approach to teaching
- Ability to exhibit patience
- Ability to exhibit professionalism
- 90-day probationary period to ensure adherence to safety, compliance and curriculum
