Job Summary
The CDL Class A Heavy Driver is responsible for driving semi-trucks, roll-offs, and van trailers for scrap metal collection. Key responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks, inspecting metal grades, performing DOT inspections, and communicating with customers and office staff. Candidates must possess 3 years of CDL driving experience, pass drug and medical tests, and maintain a clean driving record. The role requires good communication skills, the ability to work independently, and adherence to safety regulations in a scrap metal recycling environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of CDL Driving experience
- Must pass a medical DOT physical and drug test
- Must pass a background check
- Clean MVR with no recent violations
- Consent to Clearinghouse
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills
