Job Summary
Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order, then turn in forms and drive tractor-trailers or straight trucks to transport parcels between terminals. Maintain DOT certifications and company safety policies while washing the exterior of equipment daily. Assist with loading, delivery, or pick-up as needed, operating a manual transmission with doubles/triples endorsement. Work Monday through Friday starting at 7:30 PM, with 10-15 hours of overtime expected weekly at time and a half. Earn $23.00-$27.00 per hour plus a $5.00 shift premium for starts between 5:00 PM and 4:59 AM.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A driver's license
- Good driving record that meets company standards
- Ability to operate a manual transmission
- Possession or ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
- Good customer service skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to make quick decisions
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass a DOT physical
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
