Job Summary
Conduct pre-trip inspections and complete mileage and maintenance forms before driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight. Verify load documentation, collect payment, and return bills of lading to the office. Maintain DOT certifications, wash equipment daily, and assist with loading and delivery as needed. Operate manual transmission vehicles with doubles/triples endorsements while handling hazardous materials, perishable food, and live animals. Work Monday through Friday starting at 7:30 AM with 10-15 hours of overtime expected weekly.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards
- Ability to pass a DOT physical
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
