Job Summary
Conduct pre-trip inspections and complete mileage/maintenance forms before driving tractor-trailer combinations or straight trucks to deliver and pick up palletized freight. Verify load documentation, collect payments, and return bills of lading to the office. Maintain DOT certifications, wash equipment daily, and assist with loading or delivery as needed. Possess a valid CDL Class A license with doubles/triples endorsement, manual transmission ability, and good driving record. Work Monday-Friday starting at 7:30 AM with 10-15 hours of overtime expected weekly at time-and-a-half after 40 hours. Handle hazardous materials, perishable food, and live animals.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A driver's license
- Good driving record that meets company standards
- Ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass a DOT physical
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
