CDL - Career Technical Training Instructor

Job Summary
Develop and implement the Career Technical Training program in compliance with approved Course Guides and Training Achievement Records. Provide instruction and remedial training support to help students overcome barriers in obtaining industry certifications or participating in Advanced Training, Apprenticeships, or Advanced Career Training. Tailor instructional methods to individual students' learning styles and career goals while incorporating work-based learning as a primary approach. Maintain current knowledge of industry skills, safety, and health requirements, and update eTARs weekly to credit student skill attainment. Collaborate with the Workforce Council and community partners to improve program quality and create job-shadowing opportunities with employers. Monitor, mentor, and model career success standards, intervening to correct inappropriate student behavior and ensuring adherence to DOL guidelines and state testing regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be licensed, certified or accredited in the state in which the center is located or accredited by professional trade organization
- Valid State Driver's License
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision capabilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Desired Qualifications
- Above average public speaking skills and experience in same
- Above average verbal and written skills
- Above average problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Computer literacy specifically Internet, Email, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Two years teaching experience preferred
