Job Summary
Pick up and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely from customer sites, adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations. Load waste into tankers, label containers, and complete pre-printed manifests, work orders, and bills of lading. Process Universal Hazardous Waste manifests and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs) for shipments. Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any losses, spills, or accidents to a supervisor immediately. Schedule shipments into or off-site while maintaining daily contact with customers and internal staff. This role requires up to three overnight trips per week and occasional weekends. Preferred qualifications include Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, a TWIC card, and box truck experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License
- At least 21 years of age
- Up 3 overnights per week
- Occasional weekends
- Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations
- Label containers and complete pre-printed manifests / work orders
- Schedule shipments into or off site
- Perform various regulatory compliance and safety tasks including, but not limited to: Pre-trip inspections of vehicle, report all losses, spills, accidents, and safety violations to supervisor immediately and resolve leaking containers/containers
- Ongoing contact with all levels of Customers on a daily basis in delivering, promoting, and collecting waste containers
- Regular contact with many different levels of personnel
- Process and prepare Universal Hazardous Waste manifests, bills of lading and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs) for hazardous waste shipment according to state, EPA and DOT regulations
- Provide services related to hazardous and non-hazardous waste removal from customer sites
- Load, and transport waste safely in tankers according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a drug test
- Pass a DEA background check
Desired Qualifications
- Hazmat endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- TWIC Card
- Experience driving box trucks
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
