Job Summary
Reposition company commercial tractors and trailers on designated non-highway areas, including backing trailers to dock doors and shuttling equipment to logistic suppliers. Walk the yard to identify and document vehicle defects in DVCR booklets, communicate maintenance needs to team leaders daily, and obtain equipment lists to record odometer, hub readings, and engine hours weekly. Ensure refrigerated products maintain adequate temperatures, assist warehouse members with loading and unloading, and comply with safety policies regarding chocks, cones, and dock signals. Maintain DOT log regulations, clock in/out via People Net, and attend scheduled safety meetings and training sessions. Requires valid Class A CDL with air brakes, six months of verifiable CMV experience, and ability to work Sunday through Thursday shifts including mandatory overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Six months of verifiable CMV driving experience
- Must have valid Class A Commercial Driver's License [CDL] w Air Brakes
- Must maintain a DOT Med Cert
- Must always meet the defined MVR standards to remain qualified to drive company commercial motor vehicle
- Must successfully pass a background check every third year on your anniversary date
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as a short notice on occasion
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to perform heavy pushing/pulling of product
- Ability to work in refrigerated conditions [33-38 degrees]
- Ability to work in outdoor weather [rain, sleet, heat, snow, etc.]
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to loud machinery, when necessary
- Must be able to work weekends if needed
- OT is mandatory as needed
