CDL-A - Van Truckload Driver Instructor

Be accountable for coaching, mentoring and on-boarding new driver associates while they are in training. Teach and evaluate the skills needed to be successful driver associates, with hands-on training in both classroom and in-truck settings. Cover training components including safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet and policies/procedures. Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador. Prepare new drivers for a safe and rewarding career with Schneider. Responsibilities include demonstrating driving skills, facilitating on-the-job in-truck training using the electronic tablet and Schneider’s workflow system, giving verbal and written feedback, evaluating candidates, completing the annual instructor recertification and DOT compliance, and using computer-based training for driver students. May perform additional duties based on business needs, including hauling freight. Demonstrate professionalism aligned with Schneider values and participate in company-paid development opportunities.
