Job Summary
Conduct hands-on classroom and in-truck training for new driver associates, covering safety, hours of service, trip-planning, and Schneider's workflow system. Demonstrate driving skills aligned with training academy guidelines, recognize unsafe habits, and provide verbal and written feedback to ensure candidates meet expected ability levels. Act as a safety advocate and mentor while utilizing electronic computer-based training tools and completing annual re-certification processes. Schedule runs Monday through Friday from 06:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with weekly home time. Live within 50 miles of Atlanta, GA, and hold a valid Class A CDL with 12 months of experience.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months or greater CDL experience
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- DOT physical card
- Minimum 12 months of Class A driving experience
- Follow and have a knowledge of company policies
- Ability to coach and mentor effectively
- Live within 50 miles of Atlanta, GA
- Schedule Monday through Friday, 06:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Home time: Weekly
- Complete annual Schneider instructor re-certification process and continually meet DOT requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Previous instructor/training experience preferred
- Ability to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider's company policies and procedures
- Experience with Word, Excel and other computer-based systems is a plus
