CDL-A - Van Truckload Driver Instructor

Be responsible for coaching, mentoring and on-boarding new driver associates during training; teach and evaluate the skills needed to be successful driver associates; perform hands-on training in both classroom and in the truck; cover safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet and policies; act as a safety advocate and driver-retention ambassador; prepare new drivers for a safe and rewarding career with Schneider; demonstrate and teach driving skills per Schneider Training Academy guidelines; facilitate on-the-job and in-truck training using the electronic tablet and Schneider’s workflow system; provide verbal and written feedback; evaluate candidates not meeting expected levels within set timelines; complete annual instructor recertification and maintain DOT requirements; utilize electronic computer-based training; may have duties that include hauling freight as needed; exhibit professional behavior aligned with Schneider values; benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, tuition reimbursement; role requires proximity to Surprise/PHX area and CDL-A experience.
