CDL-A - Van Truckload Driver Instructor

Be accountable for coaching, mentoring and on-boarding new driver associates while they are in training. Teach and evaluate the skills needed to be successful driver associates through hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck. Cover safety, hours of service, trip-planning, tablet usage, and policies and procedures; act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador; prepare new drivers for a safe and rewarding career with Schneider. Demonstrate and teach driving skills per Schneider Training Academy guidelines; facilitate on-the-job, in-truck training on the electronic tablet and workflow system; provide verbal and written feedback; evaluate candidates not meeting expected levels within timelines; complete annual instructor recertification and DOT requirements; utilize electronic training tools; perform other duties as needed and may haul freight as required; exhibit professional behavior aligned with Schneider values.
